day 103 - Himeji Monorail, Ugly Beauty

If you're a long-term viewer of this blog you'll know I became a little obsessed with this city's  derelict monorail when I first arrived. (See days 11, 15, 57 & 65 for more shots.) The thing is, I ride past these artifacts every day on the bus and my bike on the way to Sanyo Junior High, so they're very difficult to ignore. This gets me to wondering how long it's been here, and when did it stop looking like The Jetsons and start looking like The Flintstones?
Over the next few days I'll share a few of my images and some of the history of these monoliths.

day 15

Not an ancient torii, but another shot of the derelict monorail at Nobusue. I think I am becoming obsessed with this modern ruin. I also like its juxtaposition with the sculpted pine.
