At Himeji's Historical Museum Lyn had the chance to dress in the junihitoe, the very elaborate and beautiful twelve-layered kimono which was worn by the ladies of the Imperial Court in the Heian period (794- 1185).

You make a crummy samurai, Rob =P. You'd look much more at home with a flute in one hand and a calligraphy brush in the other ^^.

Came to wish you a happy holidays,
and see that you have...left Japan?
Happy Holidays wherever you are!!
Nice to meet you and to travel to places I'd never visited.
Very Best wishes. May the spirit of Himeji be with you.
Thanks, Joanne. We had an amazing year in Japan, but now we're back home in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. Thanks for your interest and comments in the journal over 2008. You certainly have a beautiful country - we hope to get back one day.
When I get nostalgia for Nihon, I'll just check out Aikawarazu!
